artma is a unique, funky, fabulous art auction and fund-raising extravaganza like no other and is embraced by those that believe deeply in the healing power of art. Started in 2001, artma is a biennial (once every 2 years) auction of art, generously donated by local, regional, and nationally recognized artists. At each highly anticipated event, artma hosts over 1,000 guests and sells over 200 pieces of art to benefit the Morgan Adams Foundation.
artma was created to support doctors and researchers who are tirelessly searching for a cure to pediatric cancer. The Morgan Adams Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life and survival rates for children, teens, and young adults diagnosed with cancer.
artma was created in loving memory of Morgan Adams, who passed away in November of 1998 at the age of 6 just 11 months after being diagnosed with a glioblastoma multiforme brain tumor. artma is one way that MAF seeks to increase funding resources, thereby giving greater support to pediatric oncology research efforts.

Life in the West Art Gallery
The art gallery is named “Life in the West”, and includes artwork depicting the many lifestyles that you will find in the Western states. To some people that may include cowboys, cowgirls, American Indians, rodeos and ranch life, but to others that may include watching wildlife, skiing, hiking, rafting, bicycling, walking their dogs, riding horses, hunting, off-road activities, racing, bird watching, drinking craft beers, or many other interests.
We hope to showcase many different art forms depicting these interests, in many different styles of artwork, and how they influence Life in the West!
“Since the 1800s—and particularly since the 1960s—womxn’s movements have deeply changed U.S. culture and laws, affecting nearly all aspects of our lives. While there is still much work to be done, this exhibition seeks to celebrate womxn’s accomplishments and the ways that their fight for equal rights, power, and respect has improved our world. This includes accomplishments in our own lives and personal sphere.
From ecofeminism to uplifting care for family members and friends to womxn CEOs to a female vice president to body positivity to intersectional solidarity with people of color, those with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and other marginalized identities to listening and mindfulness to inventions and humanitarian efforts to alternative visions of our world to untold stories and histories that made a difference and more—we want to shine a light on the historic and contemporary achievements and influences of womxn.
Just as womxn’s work and accomplishments have seeped into almost every aspect of culture, this show calls for work that pervades the gallery space and appears everywhere:
-overhead, hanging from the ceiling;
-under the viewer’s nose, on the floor and in the corners;
-pushing the idea of art further with unexpected media and presentation styles that invade the viewer’s space, draw the viewer in, or ask the viewer to actively participate;
-and ambitious work that looks to a bright future where womxn’s work continues on forever, making the world a better place for all.”

Despite the pandemic, the inaugural year of Art on the Green was a great success. Promoted as a safely curated, all Colorado art fair, this year will see less restrictions, an additional day, and more artists booths. The fair will take place on September 11th and 12th from 10am to 5pm at Curtis Park in Greenwood Village. A plan has been set forth that will allow for a maximum number of visitors given any new COVID health guidelines. Artist booths and the aisles between rows of booths will still be placed far apart allowing for safe, social distancing. The juried art fair will continue to feature only Colorado artists and will expand to 80-90 artist booths. In addition to food trucks and local musicians, this year the fair has partnered with the Women of Steel Studio Tour. Busses will be available to take attendees to the studio tour and back to the art fair. The studio tour will feature six studios and over ten visual artists. For more call 303-797-1779.

About the Curtis Center for the Arts
Originally built as a one-room schoolhouse in 1914 to serve ten local students, the historic redbrick building is now home to the Curtis Center for the Arts. The Curtis School was formally opened in 1914 with no electricity or running water. The one acre of land the school sat on was originally donated by area resident Mary J. Curtis in 1901. In 1991 the building was dedicated as the Curtis Arts & Humanities Center. Today, the Curtis Center continues to be a learning center for the arts. The Center offers art instruction, rotating visual arts exhibits, lectures and the occasional performance. The Curtis Center for the Arts is owned and operated by the City of Greenwood Village.
